Privacy & Confidentiality

Your privacy is a cornerstone of the therapeutic process. I am committed to maintaining the confidentiality of sessions and safeguarding clients’ personal information. This means that any information clients share with me during therapy will remain private and will not be disclosed without explicit written consent, except in certain legally mandated situations. Clients have the right to inquire about the handling of their information and to raise any concerns regarding confidentiality.

Confidentiality Exceptions:

Suspected Abuse: If I have reason to believe that a child, dependent adult, or elder is being abused or neglected, I am legally obligated to report this to the appropriate authorities.

Threats to Others: If a client makes a credible threat to harm another person, I must notify law enforcement and, if necessary, the intended victim to ensure their safety.

Risk of Self-Harm: If a client expresses intent to harm themselves, every effort will be made to develop a safety plan collaboratively. If these efforts are unsuccessful, additional actions may be taken, such as contacting emergency services, to ensure the client’s safety as allowed by law.
